Meeting Arès: 10 days of educational boarding with a big heart

At the house ofCani'Oc Connection, each resident leaves a unique imprint. This summer, it's the youngAres, a magnificent6 month old Weimaraner, who settled down at home while his humans – passionate traders of our beautiful Thau Basin region – took a well-deserved break.

Welcoming a puppy of this age for a 10-day stay is a responsibility, but above all it is a fantastic work opportunity. Because Arès is a concentrate of love... and raw energy!

Arès' Challenge: Channeling a 6-month-old Weimar Heart

Upon his arrival in Poussan, Arès immediately showed us his joy of life. The problem ? A slight lack of self-control and still difficult management of emotions, typical of this exciting hunting breed at this age. Too happy? Ares jumped a lot. Excited or frustrated? He had a tendency to bite and seek to destroy to release his excess adrenaline.

For its owners, reconciling intense trading days and a hyper-active puppy can quickly become a headache. This is where our formulafamily and educational dog boardingtakes on its full meaning.

1 hour of education per day and integration with family

At our house, no boxes or cages. Arès shared 100% ourfamily life, the best learning ground for a dog. To help him calm down, we have set up a tailor-made program:

• Morning school:Every morning we shared 1 hour of sessionpersonalized education. Objective: work on renunciation, return to calm and self-control.

• Express and successful socialization:When he arrived, Ares had a little trouble with his peers, sometimes appearing clumsy or reserved. In the space of 10 days, he was around nearly 10 different dogs at home. Result ? His apprehensions have gone away and he now interacts without any worries with other dogs, having integrated the correct canine codes.

• Arlo's mirror effect:Our Saint Bernard, Arlo, played his role as regulator to perfection. Through his calm presence and his impeccable canine codes, he helped Arès to reduce pressure and understand the limits not to be exceeded.

Strong heat: Take care intelligently indoors

During his stay, the thermometer rose very sharply. Long afternoon walks being excluded for safety and health reasons, we had to reinvent ourselves! We got creative to tire him out mentally, which is often more exhausting than just running. Search mats, scent games in the house, learning new “tricks” and long-lasting putties: Arès has learned to think and occupy himself calmly, in the cool of the home.

A competitive “pot of glue”!

Behind this need to move hides a dog of absolute kindness, extremely cuddly. Arès also has a little habit of his own: despite his already imposing Weimaraner size, he is convinced that he is a very small puppy and loves to come to sleep... directly on your lap! And that’s good: at Cani’Oc Connexion, love, human presence and kindness are an integral part of the contract.

When leaving, we took the time to make acomplete oral examinationwith his teacher to give him all the keys and exercises to reproduce at home. And the adventure doesn't stop there: today we keep regular monitoring by message to ensure that Arès continues its great progress on a daily basis.
