Chronicles of the Mas: Simba's tailor-made stay, between sweet madness and complicity
Today, we take you behind the scenes of Cani’Oc Connectionto tell you about Simba's weekend. A sweetie of incredible kindness, as fast as he is independent! Through its history, discover how we viewdog carewithin our home in Poussan: a family, professional welcome, where the rhythm of each animal is king.

Simba in all his beauty and concentration for a human interaction that will bring him stimulation and joy
A fiery temperament and a major challenge: resource management
We have kept infull boardSimba is an active, independent dog, who is not a big fan of big hugs from "strangers" but who has an unconditional love for human presence and play. He knows how to make himself understood when he wants to interact! Our weekend challenge? Simba has a tendency to guard resources, particularly his toys and pieces of wood. Faced with our young Saint Bernard, Arlo, we had to observe and guide the presentations because a 4 month old puppy does not yet know all the codes of the canine world.
Please note that Simba does not provide any other protection, he shares his bowl, his bedding, his water.
Through an approachrespectful and non-coercive in terms of education, Simba knew how to find a perfect balance. He relaxed and welcomed Arlo's curiosity with great maturity. A real joy to see these two people understand each other and learn, both on one side and the other, about limits and sharing.

Small interaction to teach Simba that if a toy is occupied, another appears and therefore that there is a profusion of sources of interaction. No need to panic and only preserve the one present, others are available.
Learning by mimicry: when dogs educate each other
Simba arrived with a very solid foundation of obedience. As a dog trainer, it's a treat to work with such a profile! We took advantage of his skills to stimulate the two cuties outdoors. By mixing play and light educational exercises, Simba and Arlo were able to learn from each other through mimicry.
It's an incredibly rich learning method: seeing our Saint Bernard puppy accelerate his understanding of an exercise simply by observing his vacation buddy, that's all the magic of well-supervised canine socialization.

Exercise session Simba and Arlo concentrated to give the best of themselves after a few tens of minutes of walking.
Adapting to the unexpected: stimulating the mind when the body must slow down
Pension life is full of adaptations. Simba being slightly injured in one of his paws, it was out of the question to solicit him as intensely as he would have liked. But how can you channel the energy of such a dynamic dog without running? By shifting all expenditure to mental and masticatory activities!
Simba tends to hyper-focus, we offered him chewing sessions (yak cheese, deer antlers, camel skin, etc.) which also helps to move forward with the limitation of resource protection, olfactory search games on the ground (because the gentleman is very greedy!), a little calm obedience and great moments of play with his favorite element: wood (all while controlling the quantity and irritation because wood can be as much an ally as an enemy if ingested).
Result: healthy fatigue, without any pain for your joints.

Absolute respect for your habits (and the right to the sofa!)
For us, dog boarding should not be a stressful breakup. We adapt to the dog, as far as possible, and not the other way around. This is why we have scrupulously preserved Simba's usual food breakdown.
And at Cani’Oc Connection, unless explicitly contraindicated by the owners, dogs are an integral part of our daily lives. Simba therefore had plenty of time to sit comfortably on our sofa for his rest periods. Sharing his daily life with a big puppy and learning to lend "his" space was a great step in his development. Only once did Simba call Arlo to order by vocalizing because the young giant was a little too insistent on stealing a toy from him. Healthy, balanced communication, without any harshness or injury which also advances the management of intra-species communication.

Active communication: the serenity of the masters above all
Because we ourselves are the humans of a dog who matters more than anything, we know how much of an ordeal entrusting him to a structure can be. We don't dare to disturb, we ask ourselves a thousand questions...
At Cani’Oc Connection, we reverse the rules: it’s the pension that “disturbs” you, unless explicitly indicated! Throughout the stay, Simba's life companions received photos, videos and regular assessments during defined time slots. We even offer videos so that you can see for yourself, in real time, the state of well-being of your companion.
Our goal? May your cut be gentle and you enjoy your travels with 100% peace of mind.

It was an immense pleasure to share Simba's life during these few days. He left with a head full of memories, and we can't wait to see him again for his next vacation at the Mas!
